Sex differences in neutrophil biology affect response to type I interferons and cellular metabolism

There are striking differences between men and women in their ability to respond to certain infections, predisposition to and prognosis in certain cancers, and risk for developing an autoimmune disease. However, the underlying mechanisms that drive the differences between the male and female immune system remain insufficiently characterized, especially for innate immune system cells like neutrophils.

The Administrative Management Branch (AMB) is located within the Office of the Director (OD) and is responsible for providing administrative and business management services to the NIAMS Office of the Director and the extramural programs. Administrative staff provide overall administrative support services in the areas of travel, procurement, personnel, budget, timekeeping, property, space, I.D. badges, parking, and general administration to its assigned areas efficiently and effectively to contribute to the mission of the NIAMS.
