Summary
Sheila S. Simmons is a Senior Grants Management Specialist, in the NIAMS Grants Management Branch. She manages various grant mechanisms including those for Clinical Trials and Cooperative Agreements. Ms. Simmons is also the NIAMS lead Grants Management Specialist for the Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Research Network, and the Chemical Countermeasures Research Program (CCRP).
Ms. Simmons has been employed at the NIH for over 40 years. She started her career at the Center for Scientific Review (CSR), formally known as the Division of Research Grants (DRG). She became a Grants Management Specialist in 1991 at the NIH’s Neurology Institute. She has been with NIAMS since 2005.
