Isabelle Staco, B.S.

Summary

Isabelle Staco is a postbaccalaureate fellow under Dr. Heidi Kong in the Cutaneous Microbiome and Inflammation Section within NIAMS. Originally from the greater Boston area, Isabelle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University in 2025. Her thesis examined the role of nuclear-DNA structures in PARPi-induced cytotoxicity.

Her current career aspirations include pursuing a career as a physician-scientist and matriculating into an MSTP program following her research fellowship.

Research Statement

Isabelle’s current research involves characterizing and utilizing the human skin microbiome in the context of diseases/disorders, allergies, antimicrobial resistance, homeostasis, and the development of computational analyses.
