Dayoung Sung, Ph.D.

Summary

Dayoung Sung received her Ph.D. from Seoul University in South Korea, where her research investigated transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in bacterial pathogenesis. She subsequently joined the Cutaneous Microbiome and Inflammation Section at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases as a postdoctoral fellow.

Research Statement

Dr. Sung’s research interests lie in molecular microbiology and host-microbe interactions. In Dr. Kong’s lab, she aims to identify the complex interplay between the host immune system and skin microbiome. She utilizes advanced -omics approaches to interrogate local immune responses and uncover the mechanisms underlying skin disorders.
