Description

A YAC-1 tumor cell stained for alpha-tubulin to mark the microtubule cytoskeleton (green), CD107a (LAMP1) a marker of lysosomes (red), and DNA using the Hoechst 33342 nuclear dye (blue) resembling a meteor entering the earth's atmosphere. The image depicts the maximum projection of a Z-stack acquisition across several consecutive focal planes acquired with a plan apochromatic CS2 63X/1.4NA objective on the Leica TCS SP8 X confocal microscope housed in the NIAMS Light Imaging Section. Hannah Dada (O'Shea laboratory) performed the staining.
