Peter J. Koch, Ph.D.

Summary

Peter J. Koch, Ph.D., is the Program Director of the Epidermis, Dermis and Skin Senses Program. He joined the NIAMS Division of Extramural Research in 2023.

His prior experience includes tenured Professorships from 2012 through 2023 at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Center, and the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, in the departments of Dermatology, Cell and Developmental Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Ophthalmology. Dr. Koch also served as Department Chair in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Brody School of Medicine.

He has a broad interest in skin biology, stem cell biology, gene and cell therapy, and skin diseases (including common and rare diseases).
