Summary

Michelle Guevara graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience while enrolled in the selective Life Sciences Scholars program.  

Michelle previously participated in research through the H-SIP program and served as a special volunteer at the NIH from 2018 to 2019. She furthered her research at the Institute of Cardiology and Pulmonology in Quebec, Canada, as well as at the University of Maryland. Additionally, her interest in healthcare provided her with patient care experiences in both gynecology and gastroenterology.

Research Statement

Michelle conducts clinical and behavioral epidemiology research within the NIAMS intramural program, focused on patients with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Her research interests are in women’s health, neuroscience, and autoimmune diseases.
