Summary

Archana Jha, Ph.D., is a scientific review officer at NIAMS. Prior to joining the institute, she served as a Senior Scientist in the biopharmaceutical industry, where she led discovery biology efforts for preclinical programs focused on central nervous system disorders. Before joining the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Jha worked as a Research Fellow and later transitioned to a Staff Scientist within the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research's (NIDCR) intramural research program. Her research at NIDCR focused on investigating calcium signaling and its involvement in inflammatory autoimmune diseases, lysosomal storage disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. 

Dr. Jha earned her Ph.D. in Physiology from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, and completed her postdoctoral training at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her postdoctoral research focused on ion channel structure, function, and pharmacology.
