Description

This image shows adipocytes derived from a muscle fiber of Pompe disease mouse. BODIPY® 493/503 stained lipid (green), Hoechst 33342 (blue). Pompe disease is a rare genetic disorder that results in profound muscle weakness. The disease is caused by mutations in the gene that instructs the body to make an enzyme called acid alpha-glucosidase (GAA).
