NIAMS hosted its first-ever Twitter chat on December 10, 2013. Using the hashtag #PROMISchat, the chat highlighted the Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS), an initiative supported by the NIAMS and other NIH Institutes through the NIH Common Fund. PROMIS® experts were on hand to answer questions, including Jim Witter, M.D., Ph.D., from the NIAMS Division of Skin and Rheumatic Diseases. PROMIS® is a system of highly reliable, precise measures of patient-reported health statuses for physical, mental and social well-being. PROMIS® tools can accurately measure what patients are able to do and how they feel.
