Janet Wang graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Biology. At Case Western, Janet specialized in bioinformatics and processing genomic data for various types of cancers. She has spent most of her life in Ohio. Janet is proficient in R, unix bash scripting, awk, java, perl, matlab, and python and has utilized TARGET, TCGA, ICGC, SRA, and other data repositories using genomic tools like BWA, Samtools, Picard and GATK. She is currently a Post-bac IRTA Fellow in Scleroderma Genomics and Health Disparities Unit at NIAMS. Her current research interests are to utilize her bioinformatic skills in exploring large genomic and epigenomic datasets to expand our understanding of scleroderma.
