Deepti Bajpai, Ph.D. was born and educated in India, receiving her Ph.D. degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 2014. After that, she worked as a research associate and then ICMR centenary postdoctoral fellow in India. She joined Dr. Maria Morasso's lab in 2017 as a visiting fellow. Her research focuses on the role of DLX3 in modulating the signaling pathways in keratinocytes, which is crucial to epidermal differentiation control and cutaneous carcinogenesis.

Research Statement

Epidermal homeostasis results from a coordinated control of keratinocyte cell cycle and differentiation with an alteration of this balance leading to cancer. Dr. Bajpai's current research focuses on identifying the tumor-suppressive role of DLX3 in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. She utilizes various mouse models and a combination of transcriptomic and bioinformatic analysis to identify DLX3-dependent networks regulating squamous tumorigenesis.
